He was born on October 8, 1924 in Spartanburg, SC to the late Carrie Martin and Clyde Carter, Sr. He is predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Katherine Farmer and his son, John Carter. He retired in 1964 as a Naval Shipyard Police Officer. He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter-in-law, Ollie Patterson; best friend, Leon Peoples, and a host of other loved ones and friends. A graveside service will be held, 11am, Wednesday, March 18, 2015 at Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake, VA.
