Jedidiah Denison was born to Daniel Denison Jr. and an unknown mother around 1748 in Connecticut . Jedidiah was a private in Colonel Bellow's Regiment of Militia in the state of New Hampshire who went to reinforce the northern Continental Army at Ticonderonga 7 May 1777. Jedidiah also was a private in Captain Christopher Webber's Company, Colonel David Hobart's Regiments in General Ranks Brigader of the Militia in the Sate of New Hampshire raised to go to the Westward in the State of New York 21 July 1777. After the war Jedidiah return to Walpole N. H. where he married Lydia Griswold on the 26th of February 1782. Three of his children, Luther, Calvin and Lyddy were baptised there. Around 1794 the Denison family moved to Castleton, VT and by 1805 they had moved to Quebec where four more of their children were baptised on 31 Jan 1805 at Berthierville, Quebec, Canada. By 1820 the family relocated yet again to Hartland, Niagara, New York.
