Gwendolyn Virginia "Gwen" Stephens passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017, at Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital at the age of 77.

Ms. Stephens was born August 9, 1940, in Nacogdoches County, Texas, to parents Verna Cordova Parrish and James Bernice Parrish. She was a lifelong area resident and retired from Sunbeam Manufacturing in Nacogdoches, Texas.

She enjoyed various arts and crafts activities as well as cooking. Gwen had a great collection of cookbooks and was also excited at experimenting with new recipes. She loved all animals, but especially cats.

Her survivors include her son, Scott Stephens and wife Jaimee of Nacogdoches, Texas; three brothers, Aarron Parrish of Houston, Texas, Eddie Parrish and wife Erma Sue of Magnolia, Texas, and Jimmy Joe Parrish and wife Rose of Melrose, Texas; brother-in-law, Paul Cox of Nacogdoches, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Verna Cordova Parrish; her father, Bernice Parrish; a sister, Shirley Cox; and a brother, Allen Parrish.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2017, at Swift Cemetery on State Hwy. 7 East, with Chaplain Richard Harris officiating.
