Maude was the natural daughter of William H Kinney and Ada Arvina French. She was adopted by Otis Hake and Delia French. Maude married Guy Wallace in about 1907. Ada French died in 1898.

Norma Christine Brown Wallace
"Norma Christine Wallace, 80, of Chisholm, died Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003, at Heritage Manor Health Care Center-Chisholm. She was born January 28, 1923, in Graham, Texas to Byron W. and Ruth H. (Hilburn) Brown. She grew up and graduated from high school in Monahans, Texas. She attended Texas Womens' State University and then worked at Midland Area Air Force Base during World War II.

She met and married Robert Rundle Wallace on August 18, 1945, and moved to Houghton, Mich. In 1949 they moved Hibbing, Minn. and then Chisholm, where she lived until her death. She worked for ten years as secretary of RR Wallace and Associates Engineering and later for Dravo Construction Company. Norma has been very active in the United Methodist Church, serving as the Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, sang in the church choir, and was active with the United Methodist Women. Norma was a Past Worthy Matron of Taconite Chapter No. 217 Order of the Eastern Star-Chisholm, past president of the Mesaba Country Club's Womens' Golf League, a past president of the Vaughn-Steffensrud PTA, a past den mother for the Cub Scouts, and an avid bridge player.

She was preceded in death by her parents and also by brother Gene Brown in 2000.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Robert Rundle Wallace; children, Thomas R. (Carol) Wallace of Rochester, Minn., Bruce E. (Cheryl) Wallace of Pengilly, Carol LaRue (Joseph) Spooner of Grand Rapids; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister Maurine Riedle of Houston, Texas.

SERVICES:11:30 a.m., Saturday October 3, 2003 at United Methodist Church, Chisholm with Rev. Ramon Olson officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Arrangements by Rupp Funeral Home & Cremation Service."
