David Rolland Pugh, 84, of Lexington passed away Saturday November 11, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He had been in declining health for many years.

A 2:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Bethesda United Methodist Church 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295, with The Reverend Danny Miller officiating along with guest speakers The Reverend Tommy Helper and The Reverend Ernest Cannon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

A Randolph County native, David was born April 21, 1933 the son of, The Reverend John Quincy Pugh, Sr. and Alice Davidson Pugh. He had been a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church since 1960. David formally attended Pleasant Cross Christian Church in Asheboro. He served in the U S Coast Guard. David had an Associate's degree from Milwaukee School of Engineering. He was employed as a technical writer for Western Electric for seven years. Then he became the owner of Pugh Auto Crushing and Metal Recycling, Inc.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, his step mother, Anna Smith Pugh; five sisters, Muriel Cox, Rachel Wright, Lola Gaddis, Frances Smith and Virginia Cash; brothers, Howard Pugh, John Pugh and The Reverend Adrian Pugh; son-in-law, Dana Stutz.

On April 4, he married Margaret Louise Saunders Pugh his loving wife of 65 years. In addition he is survived by his children, Rolland Lee Pugh and wife Ann of Cary, Susan Pugh Luck and husband Neil of Greensboro, Carol Pugh Bargoil and husband Michael of Arcadia, Patricia Stutz of Southport, Michael Pugh and wife Debbie of Midway and Thomas Pugh and wife Susan of Tyro, brothers, Randall Pugh of Asheville, Dwayne Pugh of Orange, VA and Anthony Pugh of Asheboro, grandchildren, Levi Bargoil, Lindsay Schuster, Lauren Newton, Meredith Shuler, Steven Luck, Rachel Luck, Zachary Pugh, Matthew Pugh; great- grandson, Sawyer John Newton.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Davidson Funeral Home, 858 Hickory Tree Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27127.

The family requests that memorials be directed to, Bethesda United Methodist Church, 2922 Bethesda Road, Lexington, NC 27295.
