Doyalene Elizabeth Gipson Simpson was born October 9th, 1923, in Gilmer, Texas to William O. and Edna Crystal Willeford Gipson.
Upon graduating from Diana High School in 1941, she married Ross D. Simpson, her high school sweetheart, a loving union spanned 56 years until Ross' death in 1996. Their marriage produced four children - two sons, Norman Ross Simpson and Donald Wayne Simpson, and two daughters, Charlotte Ann Mitchell and Susan Elizabeth Halligan.
In 1969 Doyalene and Ross moved to Aurora, Colorado with their youngest daughter. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she opened a successful catering business, operating out of the Denver GM Training Center.
Weekends would frequently find Doyalene and Ross outdoors, camping, fishing, and enjoying the beauty of the Rockies
