Dorothy Hughes Rich, daughter of Thomas and Katie Hughes, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in the Beaver Valley Hospital. She was born March 16, 1924 In Salt Lake City, Utah. She married George Atkinson Rich on November 10, 1942 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She worked as a military vehicle driver at Dugway Proving Ground during WWII as her husband was serving in the U.S. Army. She and George ran the Beaver Press and Printing Company for 16 years.
She is survived by her son G. Michael Rich (Kay) of Salt Lake, and three daughters Sharon Barrow of Green Valley, AZ; Susan R. Craw of Beaver; and Diane Rich of Eugene, OR.; 18 Grandchildren and 29 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Darlene (Byron) Jensen and two Sisters-in-law Carol (Ken Brown) and Twila Hughes. She was preceded in death by three sons: Alan W. (Peggy), James P. (Connie) and Edward T. Rich and two grandsons Ian Rich and Robert Bailey Nowack.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 in the Beaver 3rd Ward Chapel at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Interment will be in the Beaver Mountain View Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
