C.T. was born December 27, 1924 in Leggett, Texas to parents, Charlie Turner Jones and Sudie (Murphy) Jones, and passed away November 10, 2017 in Livingston, Texas.

He is survived by his son & daughter in law, Mark Turner & Tammie Jones; daughter, Lucy Helen Kuntz; special son & wife, Hoppy & Debbie Davis; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; special friends, O’Neal Washington, Mary Gordon, & Cindy Wilkinson; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives.

C.T. proudly served in the United States Marine Corp during WWII. After the war, C.T. came home and finished college at Texas A&M University on the GI bill. He moved back home and started work as a butcher. Shortly after, he found his true passion with helping people through life insurance and from there, opened C.T. Jones Insurance Agency in 1950, which is still going strong today. He was a Chartered Life Underwriter, Great Southern Life Insurance Company Hall of Fame Inductee, and a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table. C.T. served on the First National Bank of Livingston Board of Directors for 36 years and the Hospital Board for a number of years. He was a member of the Trinity #14 Masons for 50 plus years and in 1965 was Polk County Man of the Year. Anyone that knew C.T. knew he was all business all the time.

C.T. spent his afternoons and weekends at “The Farm”, his property that he owned and tended to in Leggett Texas. He always had one of the best herds of Charolais and Brahman cross cattle around. He was a true cattleman, knowing his cattle like the back of his hand. The family memories truly were made at the farm, whether that be working cows together, tending to the horses he bred and raised, catfishing, or just a home cooked meal around the farmhouse table. His grandkids and in his later years, great grandkids were the light of his life. From driving lessons in the pasture, fishing, having to open gates in the pasture, to vacations, he was always present in their lives.

C.T. loved helping kids. He was a founder of the Polk County Youth Rodeo Association and Past President. He loved the Trinity Neches Livestock Show and Rodeo and enjoyed watching the kids exhibit their cattle, sometimes his cattle, which always made him proud.
