Rev. Bobby Cornilous Fox, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the John F. Keever, Jr. Solace Center.

A native and lifelong resident of Buncombe County, he was a son of the late Woodard O. Fox and Zelma Clark Fox. He was also preceded in death by his sisters: Frances Fox Greene and Faye Fox Hawkins; and brothers: Fred Woodard Fox and Rex Lonnie Fox.

Rev. Fox dedicated 49 years to preaching and during that time he was the Pastor of Avery’s Creek Free Will Baptist Church for 27 years. He retired from Burlington Industries as a carpenter after 36 years, and later was a carpenter for the Asheville Housing Authority for 14 years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, farming, gardening, and toy collecting.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Wanda Gosnell Fox; sister, Hattie Mae Fox Redmon of Asheville; special nephew and niece, Larry and Pat Green; special friend, Rev. Elmer Taylor; and several beloved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 11, 2017 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home with Rev. David Burgan, Rev. Randy Sluder, and Rev. Lonnie Fox officiating. Burial will follow at the Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
