Frank E. Coomer
Frank E. Coomer, 80, died at 3 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 25 at his home in Princeton.
He was born Nov. 12, 1909 in Princeton and resided here his whole life. Coomer was Princeton's clerk-treasurer from 1948-51. He was also a Gibson county retired deputy sheriff and a former county councilman. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie No. 361 and American Legion Post No. 25, both of Princeton; Police League of Indianal he was active in the Democratic Party of Gibson County for many years and was a former manager of American Legion Junior Baseball. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the navy.
Preceding in his death was his wife, Mildred M. Coomer who died April 30, 1982. Surviving are his daughter, Mrs. Dean (Dixie) Hickrod of Princeton, two sons, Richard H. Coomer of Columbus, Ohio and James D. Coomer of Priceton; six grandchildren, Sandy Bane of Patoka, Rick Hickrod, Robin and Ryan Coomer, all of Princeton, Karen and Becky Coomer of Columbus; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Colvin Funeral Home, 425 N. Main Street, Princeton, with the Rev. Jerome L Perkins officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Princeton. Friends may call at the funeral home until 8 p.m. Saturday. VFW Post 1147 will condudt military graveside rites. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
