After graduating from Cocoa High School, she married and had two daughters, in March, 1977, Betty was hired by Charlie Ragland to work for Bernards Surf Restaurant where she was employed for 27 years until her retirement in May, 2004.
Betty is survived by her husband of 22 years, Bruce H. Griffin; two daughters, Corean Schmidt and husband Joe; Patricia Boggs; and her step- daughter, Renee Arden; four grandchildren, Justin Schmidt, Kyle Shmidt, Jessica Schmidt and Jordan Boggs; her sister, Charlotte Castle and husband Bill; father-in-law, Bruce Griffin, Sr; sisters-in-law, Dawn Welch and husband Kenneth, Fawn Lazzari and husband Luis; brother-in-law, Lance Griffin and wife Diane; and many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service was held on Thursday, March 15, 2007 at the family gravesite officiated by her Uncle, Reverend Joe Lambert of Chilhowie, VA and Pastor Chuck Hodge, Chaplin of the LaFayette County Sheriff Department.
