Stephen "Chippy" Bincarowsky, 96, formerly of Nesquehoning, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at Manor Care North. He was the husband of Elsie V. (Arend) Bincarowsky who passed away August 8, 2001.
Chippy was born December 25, 1920 in Nesquehoning and was the son of the late William and Susie (Sarich) Bincarowsky.
He graduated from Nesquehoning High School in 1939. He was employed by PP&L before retiring in 1982. He was a member of the Susquehanna V.F.W. Post 2493 in Mount Wolf, was a snow bird for 35 years spending his time in Clermont, FL where he played golf and shuffle board. He was a former member of St. John's Russian Orthodox Church in Nesquehoning. Chippy proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII where he was awarded a Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
Chippy is survived by his sons, Gregory Bincarowsky and his wife, Donna of York, Robert Bincarowsky of MT; his daughter, Johanna Stange of Elicott City, MD; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and his sister, Elizabeth Lehpamer of Oxen Hill, MD.
Viewing will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017 from 7 to 9 p.m. at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 South Main Street, Mount Wolf. An additional viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2017 from Noon to 1 p.m. at the Blazosky Funeral Home, 81 East Catawissa Street, Nesquehoning. The service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Nesquehoning Russian Orthodox Cemetery. York County Veterans Honor Guard will provided military honors at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
