He was born April 16, 1944, in Harrisburg, the son of the late William Garber and Thelma Garber (Houseman).
Richard was a Navy Vietnam veteran (U.S.S. Boxer); a graduate of Susquehanna High School; and a retired plumber. He enjoyed hunting/fishing with his brothers/nephews, as well as attending block shoots.
He is survived by his daughter, Christina ("Chrissy") Garber; sister, Janice (Gary) of Harrisburg; brothers, Samuel (Linda) of Dauphin, Barry (Donna) of Harrisburg; several nieces/nephews; and his grand-dog Baron.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Garber (Attinger); and a brother, William Garber.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, November 9, 2017, at 11:30 am at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery (Annville, PA). If attending, please arrive at least 15-20 minutes early (follow signs for the funeral). A light luncheon will follow.
