Country Musician. A steel guitar player, he became a regular musician with the house band on the "The Cousin Herb Trading Post Show" on KERO-TV, Bakersfield, California, a country music variety show that lasted from 1953 to 1966, and achieved great rating success during its tenure. He himself achieved a top country hit song in 1966 with "You Can't Stop Me". He would go on to become a sought after song writer, and hosted his own syndicated country music show out of Bakersfield. From 1966 to 1969 he was awarded the "TV Personality of the Year Award" by the Academy of Country Music.
