Wilbert Dickie Campbell, 48, of 105 S. Waverley St., died at 5 p.m. Monday (Jan. 9, 1989) at King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born June 8, 1940, in Nelson County, a son of Rupert and Gladys Dodd Campbell.
He was employed for a number of years by Coffey's Market as a meat cutter. He was a member if Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church and was president of the church
choir. He was a member of Staunton Treasure Hunt Club.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Deloris Armstrong Campbell; two daughters, Mrs. Linda Gail Funk of Route 5, Staunton, and Miss Dandra Kay Campbell at home; a stepdaughter, Mrs Karen Sue Garber of Route 5, Staunton; two brothers, Earl Campbell of Norfolk and Ralph Campbell of Nelson County; two sisters, Mrs. Brenda Fitzgerald of Afton and Mrs. Judy Morris of Nelson County; one grandson; two step grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Marquis Memorial United Methodist Church by the Revs. Edward C. Johnson and Thomas Jackson, with burial in Augusta Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Harry Harris, Cecil Mace, John Garber, Buddy Stinespring, Wayne Agnor and Paul Truslow.
Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Fitzgerald, Richard Fauver, John Viel, Gary Funk, Lee Moyer and Herbert Rexrode.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Henry Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
