Seventh son of Levi & Mary (Van Buskirk) Linn; arrived in Marion in 1831 setteling on a farm of 160 acres; June 10, 1823, he married Mary A Geiger, daughter of John & Kanable Geiger; parent of eight children: Robert M, Orilla who married James Maxwell, Harriet who married a Mr. March, Mary Linn, and George Linn , who fought in the late War of the Rebellion & was a professor of Music in Arkansas, J.B. Birney and Charles T. His wife died he married 2nd, March 20, 1864, Rachel McFarland (daughter of James & Mary (Ross) McFarland & widow of James Edmund) - five children born to them, one died in infancy..others: Jennie, Nettie, Arthur & Maria B.
