Rita H. Walters Waddell

91, a five-year resident of The Inn at University Village, Massillon, passed away on 9/23/15 from complications following a heart attack, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Canton to William and Monica Zettler. She lived in Canton for 56 years and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She relocated to Arizona for 30 years before returning to this area. She was preceded in death by husbands Richard G. Walters, Earl Casterline, and William Waddell, as well as an infant daughter Elizabeth, grandson Daniel Somers, seven brothers and three sisters. She is survived by a sister, Tess Binkley; sons Tom Walters (Maude), John Walters (Linda) and Rob Walters; daughters Kathy Dressler (Gary), Pat Spitale, Jean Somers (Howard) and Mary Schneider (Doug); 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
Per her wishes, services are limited to immediate family only. She will be interred with Richard Walters at Calvary Cemetery. The family wishes to express deep appreciation to the compassionate and caring staffs at The Inn at University, especially Sue Howard and J; the Mercy Hospital CCU, especially nurses Jane Wyman and Jared; and Mercy Hospice – Lisa, Erin, Jatoya, Hanielle, Jamie and Lynda.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mercy Medical Center Hospice, 7568 Whipple Ave., NW, North Canton, OH 44720 or the charity of choice.
