Esquire Roundtree, one of the oldest settlers in this district, while sitting on the doorstep of his home 5 1/2 miles northwest of Koshkonong, was instantly killed by lightning Sunday afternoon. The lightning struck the angle of the log house knocking all of the family down, but none was hurt except Mr. Roundtree.
