Ivan R. "Ike" King, 74, of Port Royal, died Monday, Oct. 30, 2017, while on vacation in Kissimmee, Florida.
Born Feb. 11, 1943, in Belleville, he was a son of the late Samuel H. and Mary (Zook) King.
He is survived by his wife of almost 21 years, Betty M. (Walton) King, whom he married Nov. 8, 1996; five children, Terry Dressler and wife, Deborah, of Jacksonville, NC, Michael Dressler and wife, Stephanie, of Mifflintown, Sherri R. Manbeck and husband, Tim, of Port Royal, Karen Kennan and husband, Tom, and Melissa Bender; three brothers, Jess King, Dave King, and Gary King; one sister, Leah Harbst; 15 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Ike proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Viet Nam.
He was a truck driver, recently retiring from Ramsey Trucking, Mifflintown.
His memberships included Mifflintown American Legion Post 298, Mifflintown VFW Post 5863, and the National Rifle Association. He enjoyed working in his shop and especially being with his family.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, at Guss Funeral Home, Inc., 20 S. Third St., Mifflintown, with a service at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Charles Hershberger officiating. Interment will be at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville at the convenience of the family where full military honors will be accorded.
The family will provide all flowers and requests that memorial contributions be given to a Veteran's organization or the charity of the donor's choice.
