Funeral services for Mr. Jesse "J.P." Pete Smith, 91, of Monroe, will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 28, 2006, in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Andy Myrick and Rev. Lynn Townsend officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Smith was born October 17, 1915 and passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006. He worked for International Paper Co., was a member of Loch Arbor Baptist Church, and loved to "tinker" on things.
Mr. Smith is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Evelyn and Robert Berret of Natchez, MS, and Sue and Tom Boyd of Monroe; grandchildren, Carl and Paula Thomas, Cheryl and Terry Laughinghouse, Mark and Kay Boyd, Jeff and Pam Thomas, and Robin Berret; great grandchildren, Drew and Sara Laughinghouse and Jessica Thomas; and nephew and wife, Dale and Saundra Harris.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 AM until service time at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel.
