Born 3 April 1824 at Williamsburg Township, Dundas County, Upper Canada, son of George Fetterly and Eve Fetterly. Sponsors at baptism: John Harkness and wife Catherine Fetterly.

William Silas Fetterly, age 29, married Olivia Brown, age 18, on 7 July 1857 (St. Lawrence Lutheran Church) with witnesses Joseph Cole and Cascinda Brown. Olivia Fetterly is age 71 in the 1911 Cornwall census.

William Silas Fetterly died in the town of Cornwall, (now the City of Cornwall), Cornwall Township, on 18 May 1897, informant Walter Fetterly, son.
