Arthur J. Porter, 81, retired chief engineer of Craig Colony at Sonyea, died Sunday, November 4, 1956, at his home in Erie Street, Mt. Morris.
Mr. Porter began work at Craig Colony in 1898, and was a charter member of the colony band. He retired in 1937.
He leaves his wife, Elizabeth Duffy Porter; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Gehrig; a brother Harry R. Porter; one grandson and one grand daughter, all of Mt. Morris.
Burial was in Mt. Morris Cemetery.
