Born in Bridgeport on August 19, 1915, he was a son of the late Augustin and Philomena (Paschall) Carfagno.
He was a retired truck driver with Tose Trucking from 1939 - 1978. He has lived in Plymouth Meeting since August 28, 1950, formerly of West Conshohocken, born and raised in Bridgeport.
He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Black Horse, a World War II Army Calvary Veteran, he was a Sgt. with the 104th Calvary Troop D in Central Europe and Northern France where he received American Campaign Medal, American Defense Medal, European - African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, World War II Army of Occupation Medal and World War II Germany Clasp.
He was a certified Preferred Fan at Notre Dame University.
Surviving are two daughters: Patricia G. and her husband Tom Mellon of King of Prussia and Michael J. and her husband Tom Van Arman of East Norriton; a brother, Peter L. Carfagno, Sr. of Naples, FL; two sisters: Ann Venezia of East Norriton and Rita Minanno of West Norriton; two grandsons: Thomas H. and his wife Lella Mellon of Royersford and Gabriel C. Van Arman of Collegeville; two granddaughters: Christine and her husband Paul Kolbman of Pottstown and Natalie J. Van Arman of Washington, DC.
Predeceased by his wife Frances V. (Milakeve) Carfagno and a daughter, Marie Carfagno.
His funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 5 at 11:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 454 Fairfield Road, Plymouth Meeting. Clergy: Fr. Brian A. Izzo officiating.
Friends may call on Friday, Nov. 5 from 8:30 to 10:15 a.m. at the Moore and Snear Funeral Home, 300 Fayette Street, Conshohocken.
Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, West Conshohocken.
Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life Upper Merion, 700 Horizon Circle, Suite 201, Chalfont, PA 18914.
