He obtained an associate degree from AM&N University. He later served in the United States Air Force. He proudly answered his call into the ministry of God and pastored in the AME Church for over 40 years. He was instrumental in the renovation of several AME Churches.
He was predeceased by his parents; daughter, Rochelle Dukes; brother, Leon Cavaness; and grandson, Quentin Graham. He is survived by his wife, Rosie; five sons: Daniel, Terence, Timothy, Derwin, and Daktor (Jotis); four daughters: Rachel (Larry), Rene, Remonia, and Theressa.
Service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Dermott, Arkansas on Saturday, October 28th at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in Sherwood, Arkansas on Monday, October 30th at 1 p.m.
