Mrs. Ida Busby Lindsey, age 81, of Caldwell, died Wednesday, at the Baptist Central Hospital, in Memphis. She had been in poor health for the past year and in the hospital for the past three weeks.
Mrs. Lindsey was born February 13, 1913, in Batesville, Mississippi, and was the daughter of Thomas Glenn Busby and Ada Murphree Busby.
She made her home in the Caldwell area most of her life, was a housewife and a member of Caldwell Baptist Church. Mrs. Lindsey married Elmer Lindsey, in 1931, and he preceded her in death, in 1968.
She is survived by two sons: Mr. Elmer B. Lindsey of Caldwell, and Mr. James E. 'Jim' Lindsey of Fayetteville; three daughters: Mrs. Betty Holman of Forrest City, Mrs. Joyce Clark of Caldwell, and Mrs. Claudette Ferguson of Harrison; three sisters: Mrs. Ruby Kay and Mrs. Mary Ellis of Forrest City, and Mrs. Lorene Thomas of Wynne; seventeen grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandchild. She had one daughter, Tommy Satterfield, who preceded her in death, in 1970.
Services for Mrs. Lindsey will be held at the Caldwell Baptist Church, 2 p.m. Friday, with the Rev. Rufus Crawford, officiating, assisted by Rev.James A. Wilcox. Burial will follow in Hughes Cemetery.
