Funeral home Obituary of Richard Masters
Richard S. Masters, 101, of Harford, PA passed away, Saturday, September 26, 2015 at his home. Born June 14, 1914 in Kingsley, PA, he was the son of the late Alva J. and Clara [Stearns] Masters. His wife Eloise W. [Williams] Masters predeceased him on December 10, 2014 after being married for 81 years.
Richard owned and operated Masters Ready Mix Concrete in Kingsley, PA since 1951.
He was a member of First Congregational Church of Harford UCC, honorary lifetime member of Harford Volunteer Fire Company, and the Harford Lodge #445 F. & A.M., Hop Bottom, PA. Dick formerly was a member of the, Harford Fair Board, Harford High School Board, and County National Bank Board. He was also a past long time Chairman of the Republican Party of Susquehanna County.
Survivors include his daughters & sons-in-law, Joyce & Richard Berish of Harford, PA, Betsy & Jonathan Blattmachr of Garden City, NY, Jacqueline & Ronald Phillips of Kingsley, PA, son & daughter-in-law, Richard W. & Shirley Masters of Kingsley, PA, 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren, son-in-law, Gary Housel of Harford, PA and numerous other nieces, nephews and family members.
Besides his parents & wife he was predeceased by a daughter, Marcia Housel, grandson, Brian Housel, sister & brother-in-law, Maxine & Mitchell Shulman, brother & sister-in-law, Jack & Carol Masters.
The family would like to thank Etery Baramashvili for many years of loving care and Traditional Hospice for their assistance during the last several months.
Services: 3:00 PM, Saturday, October 10, 2015 at First Congregational Church Of Harford UCC, Harford, PA 18823.
Masonic Service: will begin at 1:00 PM
Visitation: will be held prior to services from 1:30 PM until time of service at the church.
Instead of flowers: memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational Church of Harford UCC, PO Box 217, Harford, PA 18823.
