The Lord needed one more angel to fill his choir. Our sweet, beloved mother returned to her Father in Heaven on October 19, 2017. We don’t say “incident to age,” she was too young at heart for that.

She was born to Alice Elnora Leavitt Lower and Nathan Leslie Lower on November 3, 1922. She was the third of eight children.

Alice married Lyel Kirby August 1, 1946 in the Logan Temple.

She taught her family many things: faith, hope, charity and love. She loved everyone and everyone loved her. She cherished her time teaching Young Women’s. Many of them continued to keep in contact with her. Alice served in the Arkansas Little Rock Mission with Lyel and made many friends. These friends often reminded her how their lives had been blessed by their service. Alice’s grandchildren have fond memories of spending the night, making cookies and shopping at the mall.

Alice will be missed by her six children, Craig (Laura), Bill (Suzanne), Larry (Claudia), Marilyn Davis (Keith), Madilyn Hillier (Mike), and Tammy Walker. Also to carry on her legacy are 19 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Also surviving is her sister Wilma Miller of Ogden. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lyel, parents, and seven siblings.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may visit family Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday at 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

The family would like to thank sweet caregivers Dr. Gary Holland and Nursing Staff, ComfortWorx Hospice, South Ogden Post-Acute, and Legacy House.
