Addison Westley Atha, was a son of Thomas Alvin Atha (b. 29 Jan 1780, Virginia, and whom died 10 May 1845, Jesse Creek, Gallia County, Ohio and Sarah Sally Parkins.

The actual burial location for Addison W Atha/Athy, is unknown, presumed to be in one of the Talcott cemeteries. The only documentation that provides a clue is the 1860 census, with him and his family living at Rollingburg. Rollingburg is across the Greenbrier River from Talcott, West Virginia. At this time in history, there wasn't a bridge that crossed over the river and the only way of crossing was the Ferry from one side of the river to the other side.

The death date is also unknown, no records existed in the West Virginia Vital Statistics for his death. His was 50 years old at the 1860 census, he could have possibly lived another 25 years and thusly the range exist between 1860 and 1885.

In 1860, this area was considered Monroe County, Virginia. In 1863, West Virginia formed out of Virginia due to the Civil War. In 1871, the Rollensburg/Talcott area became part of Summers County, West Virginia.

He was married to Francis "Fanny" Raines, and had a family with her.
