Find a Grave ID

My GEDmatch number is T813646.

I am one of the Great Grandsons of John Henry Wykle and Mary Daniel, as they were married from 1871 to 1888. This being on the maternal lineage of the Wykle family. On the paternal lineage, Robert Cadin Weikle and Callie Baker are great grandparents, and Lonadais "Lon" Wickline. Also on the maternal lineage are Ballard P Ward and Sarah Ann Miller, as great grandparents (Summers County). John Henry Wykle, knew all the other great grandparents, through his travels in Monroe, Summers, Raleigh, and Fayette Counties of West Virginia.

I welcome dialogue and exchange of information regarding cemeteries and places of final resting places of individuals ancestors. The collaborative approach, I adhere to the dynamics, because the learning process and discovery benefits all individuals. Some of the death certificates do have the cemeteries listed, and then because some of are rural, not all cemeteries have I personally visited.

If someone is a direct lineage descendant and wishes to manage the virtual memorial, I don't have a problem transferring them over. Or if you have suggestions, corrections, ideas of improvement, by all means, send me an email. If one of the memorials is your ancestor, grandparents, and you have a photo of them. Please add it to the memorial.

I'm not a "FindaGrave Memorial Collector"; so I'm going to limit my research to less than 1,000 individuals or memorials. I work hard to get my information as accurate as possible and am thankful when other contributors do the same. I'm happy to make requested corrections or consider transfers, but please use the "Edit" tab on the memorial. It's easier to manage the emails that way, and it gives me a link to the memorial and your profile if I need to leave a message. If you request a transfer, please tell me the relationship to the person. Thanks!

If you're a visitor to Find A Grave without an account, please don't send a message without including a way to respond. If you don't have an account, then no email address is given in the message I get, nor is there a link to a profile where a public messages can be left, so I have no way to respond.

Earlier in 2016, I decided to participate in the Family Finder yDNA swab test. As a direct male descendant of, 8th generation, of George Weigel who married Elizabeth Schatten, 1767, at St. James Lutheran Church, Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. As well as his son, George C Wikle and Mary Magdalina Michael, of Augusta County, Virginia.

In Virginia, the associated family spelled the last name Wichael. Whereas, in West Virginia and Tennessee, the last name is spelled Weikle/Wikle/Wykle. In Ohio, and Iowa, the last name was spelled Wical. So there are different lineages in different states where the name was initially spelled phonetically on the records and continue to the modern day. Yet, we are all related across the centuries. The Middle Ages of Europe, in the 1500's, it was spelled Weigel.

I am 7.1 generations distance from Findagrave memorial ID: 186371332 of Johann Michael Weigel. He seems to be a Great Uncle to my lineage George Weigel of Augusta County. Using Gedmatch and FamilyFinder DNA. The 'cousin' on Gedmatch gives the 7.1 generation distance, yet on FTDNA the distance is 5th cousin remote; this difference is probably due to the mathematical analysis calculations.
