Edna M. Peters, 90, of Sherman died at 3:59 am, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Villa East. She was born April 20, 1927 in Springfield to Richard R. and Mildred Workman Neale. She married John S. Peters, Sr. on December 11, 1952 and he preceded her in death on December 12, 2003.

She was also preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Mary Ann and Mildred.

Survivors include one daughter, Julia (James) Yuroff of Sherman; two sons, John S. (Vicky) Peters II of Spaulding and Kenneth A. Peters of Springfield; two grandchildren, Justin (Carolyn) Yuroff of Springfield and John Peters III of Springfield; four sisters, Nancy, June, Sue, Ruth and two brothers, Richard and Robert.

Edna was of the Catholic faith. She was a member of Home Extension and enjoyed playing cards, especially BUNCO. She was a homemaker and also worked at Memorial Medical Center as a nurse assistant for eight years.

Visitation: 10:00-11:00 am, Monday, October 23, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman, IL.

Funeral Service: 11:00 am, Monday, October 23, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home – Sherman with Reverend Braden Maher officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
