Obituary from The Salt Lake Tribune, Sat., 8/9/2014:

Elizabeth A. (Bette) Moore 1920 ~ 2014

Elizabeth A. (Bette) Moore passed away at home in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday July 23, 2014. Bette was born Ruth Elizabeth Armstrong on November 25, 1920 to Rollin Samuel Armstrong and Sarah Ruth (Ingersoll) Armstrong in Roseburg, Oregon, the third of four children.

She grew up and attended schools in Portland, Oregon, graduating from St. Mary's High School. The family moved to Salt Lake City, Utah in 1936 where she attended St. Mary's of the Wasatch College. In Salt Lake City, she met the love of her life David W. Moore. They were married on January 29, 1942 and spent 62 years together until David passed away in 2004. Bette and David had a great faith in God and in 1960 embarked on a path that would last the rest of their lives as David became an Episcopal priest. Together they served Christ with congregations in churches in California, Utah, Wyoming and Arizona.

Bette was a geological draftsman and cartographer heading up the drafting department for Bear Creek Mining (the exploration division of Kennecott Mining) during the 1950's and later working for Newmont Exploration in Casper WY during the 1960's. She was also a well-known artist, working in oil, acrylics and water color. Bette had many one person shows throughout the west particularly in Wyoming and Arizona. Her works remain in many public and private collections in the US and Europe.

Preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers Max, Robert and Phillip. . . .

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Salt Lake City, UT. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials are made to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral, Salt Lake City, UT, or a charity of the donor's choice.
