Catherine Beatrice Bertrand, 90, of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at her residence.
Catherine was born on April 16, 1927 in DeRidder, Louisiana to parents Hattie (Young) and Newton M. Patterson.
She had lived in the Port Arthur area since 1947 and was member of First Baptist Church in Groves. She worked for Great Lakes Carbon Corporation for many years as a Shipping Clerk. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking, and painting. At Christmas time she loved to make her fruitcakes for all her family and friends. Catherine was a loving person who will be dearly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-three years, Leroy F. Bertrand; her son, Steven Bertrand; her daughter, Marion “Ginger” Worrell, and her five siblings.
Catherine is survived by her son, Paul Bertrand and wife Debra; daughter, Jean Rantz and husband Leroy and daughter, Anita Marcos; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
