Audrey Eileen (Gingrich) Brenneman, 83, of Corvallis died Saturday in Independence at the Evergreen Nursing Home from Alzheimer's.

She was born the ninth out of 10 children to Marshall Henry and Jessie Mae (Hoylman) Gingrich. She also shared her birthday with her mother. She was born in Albany on the old Crawford place on Highway 34. The painting of the man that was once on the barn has since been removed and is now at the Albany Museum.

She attended Albany schools but graduated from high school in 1942 in Hesston, Kan. She met her husband, Roderick Brenneman, there. They married in Albany at her family home on July 3, 1942, and she was a homemaker her whole life. They bought a farm in North Corvallis, living there until she entered an Alzheimer's unit.

She was a member of the Albany Evangelical Church of North America and sang in the choir. She also sang with the Mothers Singers in Corvallis and for many weddings. She volunteered in the church, coordinating wedding receptions.

She loved to read, sew and do things for her family. While living in South Carolina from 1970 to 1978 she did a lot of sewing for their three grandchildren. After Rod retired from Georgia Pacific in South Carolina, they returned to the farm in North Corvallis.

During their retirement, they were involved in their church's volunteer Home on Wheels group, working on churches throughout the United States. They also belonged to the Oregon Edsel Club.

She is survived by daughter Billie Williamson of Seal Rock; son Tom Brenneman of Salem; sister Doris Ellsworth of Salem; grandchildren Kim Villemyer, Kristopher and Andrew Brenneman, Amy Jackson, Michael Williamson, Mara Swan, and Casey and Amanda Brenneman; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by husband of 63 years Roderick in September 2005 and oldest son Rod Brenneman Jr. in March 2000.

Viewing will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at AAsum-Dufour Funeral Home. A service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the First Evangelical Church.
