Denver attended Zion Elementary School before graduating from Stilwell High School in 1970. After graduation, he went to work at Stilwell Foods and then for Cherokee Nation on various road projects before attending truck driving school and becoming a career long cross-country truck driver.
Those preceding him in death include, his parents, Charley and Jennie (Still) Johnson; five brothers, Richard Bird, Jr. Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Henry Johnson and J.D. Johnson; three sisters, Violet Still, Mary Jane Limore and an infant sister.
He leaves behind one brother, Sammy Joe Johnson and wife Linda and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
