She was born on January 31, 1945 at Belington, WV, a daughter of the late Curtis Lee Bodkins, who passed away in combat in WWII, the late Norma Selena Channell Bodkins Poe and her step father the late Ira William “Buck” Poe, who raised her. On September 28, 1996 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Roy Richard, who preceded her in death February 26, 1997.
She is survived by two children; Charlie Ramsey of Belington and Teresa “Terri” Hutzler and husband Mike of Junior, two step children; one brother; Delmas Bodkins and wife Lorraine of Belington, one sister; Phyllis Cross and husband Junior of Belington, two grandchildren; Andrew and Joshua Ramsey, one special niece; Andi Lamb. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two step children.
Corliss was a graduate of the Belington High School with the class of 1962 and previously was employed at Tygart Valley Orthopedics as a medical transcriptionist, from which she retired. She was a lifelong member of the Concord United Methodist Church in Belington and was an avid reader and loved books. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and looked forward to the summer so she could take trips to the beach which she loved and enjoyed. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Sunday October 8, 2017 from 6-9 pm and again on Monday October 9, 2017 from 8 am – 1pm the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted from the funeral home chapel with the Rev.
