The many friends of Allen Hooks, former sheriff of Milam county, will learn with sorrow of his death which occurred last Friday at the State Insane Asylum in Austin, where he had been since his ind failed him a year or two ago. Mr. Hooks served the county as sheriff for several terms and was one of the best known and best liked men who ever held office in this county.
