Dwayne T. Burns, 81, a longtime Haltom City resident died of heart failure at a Grapevine hospital Tuesday.

He served in the US Army as a paratrooper during World War II.

He married Minerva Chastain on Feb. 23, 1946. She died in a boating accident a year later.

He married Mildred True Aug. 15, 1948. They had four children.

Survivors include his wife; son Dwayne 'Chip' Burns of Springfield, Mo.; daughters, Donna Renner and DeWayna Loomer, both of Haltom City; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Heritage Church of Christ in Keller. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.
