Frazier, JoAnn Dixon,

JoAnn Dixon Frazier, 87 joined Pa Jack in Heaven, on October 9, 2017 upon her passing at home in Crestwood, Kentucky. Ma Jo was born March 16, 1930 at Blackey, Kentucky to Elma (Ell) Marie Dixon. She was raised by Ell and her beloved grandparents, Thomas A. and Anna Caudill Dixon. On July 20, 1948 she married Jack Frazier just a few months short of their graduation from Stuart Robinson School. She and Pa Jack never missed an SRS reunion. To their union was born Anna Marie (Jill) Frazier, John Wakefield (died December 5, 1951) and Glenna Jo (Jody) Frazier Curry (Keith).

Life Handed Ma Jo a fair number of trials but she was a strong-willed woman with unshakeable faith in God, and an unlimited and unconditional love for her family. She didn't seek glory but she deserved the recognition she received for being a truly wonderful Mom for her daughters, and the best and most fun grandmother and great-grandmother. She did want an honor, her high school diploma .In the winter of 1970, she rode the bus daily to Whitesburg High School to complete the few classes she needed for graduation. She was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in La Grange.

Pa Jack passed in February 2015. Though Ma Jo continued to have many joy filled days with family and friends, we believe the heartbreak took its toll. She passed peacefully, knowing her reward. Ma Jo is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law; her two grandchildren, Caitlin Gentry (Justin) and Matthew Curry (Amanda); two great-grandchildren, Adeline Grace Gentry and Asher Allen Gentry; her sister Betty Sue Moss (Jack) and her children and grandchildren; brother-in-law, Gurnie Maggard (Anna Lee) and his children and grandchildren; her uncle, Thomas A. Dixon, Jr.; and her Aunt, Faith May Dixon. She also leaves behind many more loved friends and family, including Hal and Claudetta Adams and Charles Ann Mullis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday , October 12 at Covenant United Methodist Church, La Grange, Kentucky. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Centerfield. Visitation will be at the Church from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 11th.
