Gerald Dale Crawford, age 73, of Clarence, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 9, 2017, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
Gerald was born February 3, 1944, in Millard, Missouri, the son of John Barton Crawford and Ethel Mae Kirkpatrick. He was united in marriage to Connie Caswell on August 22, 1964 in Kirksville, Missouri. She survives
He is survived by his two children, Steven Brent Crawford of Shelbina, Missouri, and Carole Dianne Wharton (Chad) of Shelbina, Missouri; six grandchildren, Danielle Crawford, Haley Jones (Randy), Ericka Crawford, Kaytlyn Chinn, Adam Wharton, and Allie Wharton; four great grandchildren; three brothers, John Crawford (Connie), Hollis Crawford (Deleta), and Richard Crawford; and several nieces and nephews.
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Glinda Crawford.
Gerald was a member of the Ducks Unlimited Organization and the National Wild Turkey Federation. He taught 25 years at the high school level, mainly in math. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, antiquing, going to auctions, making molasses, and working with his cows. He made a lot of different wood working projects, including duck calls, duck decoys, turkey calls, and many more things. He also enjoyed trap shooting, drinking coffee with friends, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 15, 2017, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence, Missouri. Visitation will be from 12 to 2 pm, Sunday afternoon at Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Clarence. Burial will be at in the Maplewood Cemetery in Clarence, Missouri. Memorials may be made to the Neighbors Helping Neighbors or Maplewood Cemetery or Donor’s Choice.
