John H. Hlavachek, 72, of Rt. 2, Reedsville, died Saturday evening at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday at Reedsville Funeral Home and at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. The Rev. John Nueser will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hlavachek was born March 29, 1902, in the Town of Cato, son of the late Joseph and Mary Burich Hlavachek. He married Viola Sinkula June 12, 1928, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Norman. He farmed in the Town of Cato all his life. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and Catholic Knights, past member of Reedsville Lions Club and honorary member of Reed-Way Sportsman Club.

Survivors include his son, John L., of Manitowoc, two daughters, Mrs. Ervin (Dorothy) Sadow, of Tarzana, Calif., and Mrs. Vernon (Betty) Lemberger, of Whitelaw; two brothers, the Rev. Joseph of Detroit, Mich., and George of Albany, Wis.; a sister, Mrs. Frank (Caroline) Bacik, of Jackson, Mich.; two step-sisters, Mrs. Mary Shimek, of Reedsville and Mrs. Rose Polak, of Manitowoc and ten grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. and Knights of Columbus prayer service will be held at 8:30 p.m.
