Jennifer "Penny" Mackrell George, 62, passed away Saturday, 7 October, surrounded by her family at her home in Kennett Square, PA.

She was preceded in her passing by her husband of 38 years, Tom George.

She is survived by her sons, Chris and Shane, her sister, Alice, and dozens of beloved cousins.

Penny will be remembered for her strength, loyalty, compassion, and fierce devotion to the people she loved.

Penny met Tom in 1977 while working at Rollins Truck Leasing and started their courtship dancing in the aisles at a Spinners concert. They first kissed under a streetlamp after the concert-the beginning of almost 40 years of love and laughter. Their marriage was one for the ages; it set an incredible example of love, mutual respect, and genuine happiness for their children to follow.

Penny was the cornerstone of her family: a devoted wife and mother and the best sister, cousin, and friend imaginable. Penny considered raising her boys to be her greatest achievement; every day they emulate her unconditional love, resiliency, and unflagging devotion to family.

While fighting ALS, lung cancer, and two rounds of brain cancer, Penny always showed unwavering strength, tremendous grace, and an indomitable will. With each new diagnosis, she declared the birth of a "New Penny," vowing once again to live life to the fullest and enjoy every day.

Throughout it all, Penny carried on with a smile and a joke, never complaining, and setting an example of strength and love for her kids until the day she passed.

Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation Tuesday October 10, 2017 from 9-10:30am at the St. Thomas Parrish 430 Valleybrook Road Glen Mills PA followed by her funeral mass at 10:30am. Interment will be in the church yard cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Stand up to Cancer P.O. Box 843721 Los Angeles CA 90084-3721.
