Springfield, IL—Robert H. Tippett, 79, of Springfield, passed away at 11:48 pm, Friday, October 6, 2017, at Memorial Medical Center. He was born May 2, 1938 in Menard County, IL to Oscar Earl Tippett, Sr. and Leila Ethel Workman, and they preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by thirteen siblings. He married Mary Martha Jones on August 6, 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Martha; four children, Bryan Tippett of Springfield, Roberta Tippett of Springfield, Joan Macrander of Sullivan, and Janna (Greg) Coscia of Springfield; one grandchild, Chet McConnell of Springfield; two sisters: Beverly Still, Payson, AZ, Eileen (Jim) Hall of Creve Coeur, IL; one brother, Paul (Patsie) Tippett of Youngsville, NC and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Robert was a resident of Springfield most of his life. He was a typewriter repairman and worked at Daily Bread for 20 years. He was a member of Foursquare Gospel Church, was the Secretary/Treasurer for the Full Gospel Businessmen's Association and former Board President of Right to Life.
The family will host a gathering on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at 10 am, until the time of a memorial service at 11 am, at Foursquare Gospel Church, 830 E. Stanford Ave., Springfield, with Pastors Mike Tozer and Paul Griffis officiating.
