Funeral services for Mr. Tony Adams, age 84, are scheduled for 4 PM, Monday, October 9, 2017 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington with Pastor Leon Dunning officiating. Interment will follow in Lexington Cemetery.
Mr. Adams passed away Thursday in Lexington. He was born March 28, 1933 in Henderson County to the late Joseph Anthony Adams and Olevia Roberts Adams.
He loved sports, especially football and played during high school under Coach Gil Gideon. He was a retired salesman for Abilene Flour Mill, owned and operated Adams Furniture and enjoyed duck hunting, photography, and the outdoors. Mr. Adams was an avid reader and loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Mrs. Roberta Bagwell Adams; one son, Randy Lynn Adams; and one grandson, Steven Wallace.
Survivors include his two sons, Ronnie Adams (Julia) of Lexington and Rob Adams (Leslie) of Birmingham, AL; two daughters, Peggy Adams Wallace (Terry) of Jackson and Rebecca Umphers of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Jerry Adams; three sisters, Mary Ellis, Joan Pratt, and Janie Hutchison; nine grandchildren, Terry Paul Wallace, Adam Powers, Miranda Dunning, Grant Wallace, Ashley Kate Melton, Hope Alexandra Owens, Zachary & Blake Adams, and Allen Lee Umphers; and seventeen great grandchildren.
