Friends may call from 1 until 5 p.m. Sunday at the chapel. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Hollywood Hills.
Mr. Kechter, who was born in Fort Collins, Colo., lived in Winchester 11 years. He owned and operated the Kechter House Movers Co. in Carson 43 years.
He was a member of the Congregational Church in Fort Collins.
He enjoyed fishing and camping. He also enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Mona; two sons, Michael Sutherland of Fort Collins and Robert Kechter of Hollywood; three daughters, Cherie Manke of Berthoud, Colo., Judy Linsenmeyer of Bellvue, Colo. and Harmona Sutherland of Winchester; 11 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Roy of Chula Vista and a sister, Janie Lesser of Riverside.
