Pte Woodcock enlisted on 7 August 1915 and embarked from Sydney aboard HMAT Port Lincoln on 13 October 1915. He fought in the Battle of Rafa and died of wounds on 13 January 1917. He is buried at Kantara War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt.
