Johnny Lee Robertson, 72, of Ricardo, Texas, passed away in his sleep Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at his home.

Johnny was born September 17, 1945 in Kingsville, Texas to Johnnie and Mary (Yaklin) Robertson. He graduated from Rivera High School in 1963. He married Sharon Ann Cumberland in Vattman, Texas, December 16, 1966. Johnny was employed as a rural route mail carrier for more than 30 years, serving the rural Riviera and Bishop areas. Johnny often spoke of how much he truly loved his work and he felt that his rural customers were his family. He was an avid gardener and he spent most of his weekends in his yard and garden as well as spending time on the family land on the Blanco River.

Johnny is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sharon; his children, John A. Robertson, Stephanie A. Knowles (Paul), Faye L. Privette (Todd), Hardy Robertson (Robin) and Sara R. Robertson; his eight grandchildren, Nathan, Samantha, Nicholas, Gillian, Logan, John Hardy, Jack and Nash; his mother, Mary Christine (Yaklin) Robertson; his siblings, Tom Robertson, Verna Pinkerd (David), Bruce Robertson, Connie Boring, Michael ''Red'' Robertson, Rita Fry (Rick) and Tim Robertson (Diane); as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Johnnie ''Pud'' Robertson, and his siblings Geraldine, William ''Willie'' and Gaylord.

Rosary will be recited Friday, September 22, 2017 at the Turcotte-Piper Mortuary Chapel. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 320 E. General Cavazos Blvd., Kingsville.
