She is survived by her five children: Catherine Lawson of Alden, Trina (Eric) Goodman of Darien, Kevin (Michele) Lawson of E. Bethany, Ray (Vicki) Lawson of Pembroke, and Gary (Jennifer) Lawson of Horseheads, New York; brother Clair Kroh of Alden; grandchildren Shannon, Taylor and Alexis Goodman, Sarah, Ian, Kelly, Jenna, Dimitri, Nathan and Kiya Lawson; close friends Sandra Schecterly of Darien and Pat Weiser of Warsaw, along with many nieces, nephews and relatives.
Elizabeth was a partner in Lawson’s Motor Sales in Darien for many years with her late husband, Valdon. She served as the Assessor for the Town of Darien for 20 years prior to her retirement in 2004. She often said her biggest accomplishment was raising five wonderful children and seeing how they and their families grew and enjoyed life. Betty liked playing pinochle with friends in the Darien and Corfu senior citizen groups. She was known for her crocheted afghan creations and also enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles with family and friends.
There will be no prior calling hours. Services for Elizabeth will be held at the convenience of the family. She will be laid to rest in Darien Cemetery.
