ABELLERA, CARMELITA D. Carmelita D. Abellera, 70, of Ward St. passed away on September 30, 2010 at the Hospital of St. Raphael following a short illness. Carmelita was born on February 8, 1940 in La Union, Philippines to the late Ciriaco and Valeriana Dulatre Dulay. Before coming to the United State, she married the late Rudy C. Abellera who predeceased her in 1991. Carmelita was a parishioner of St. Anthony's Church for many years and was active in S.A.P.A.C. and the Philippine-American Women's Association of CT and she has worked for over 20 years at the Jewish Home for the Aged in housekeeping. Carmelita is survived by her sister Conception Dulay Criste and brother Benjamin Dulay as well as her niece Cherry Ignacio and her husband Alex along with their son and 2 daughter and her nephew Jeamuel Christe and his wife Lea along with their son. She is also survived by a host of extended family members and friends. Friends are invited to call on Monday, October 4, 2010 from 5PM to 9PM at the Keenan Funeral Home, 238 Elm St., West Haven. Funeral Procession will form on Tuesday at 10:30AM at the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30AM at St. Anthony's Church, 70 Washington Ave., New Haven with burial in St. Lawrence Cemetery.
