Obituary for Danny George
Danny Joe George, 70, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in Booneville on November 8, 1946, to Thomas Newton George and Velma Irene Martin George. Danny started driving a truck quickly out of school and just recently retired from trucking. He was a member of Liberty Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. Bringing him much joy was being with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be Sunday, October 1, 2017, at 2:00 PM at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David English officiating. Visitation will be Saturday evening from 5:00 till 8:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Hatfield George, whom he married on June 24, 1967; one son, Johnny George (Honey); one daughter, Michelle George Coats (Mike); sisters, Peggy Rinehart (Duane), Regetta Lambert (Lee) all of Booneville, and Jane Bladon (Ron) of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren, Alec Coats, Christian Coats, Gage Coats, and Newt George; and one great-granddaughter, Ivy Drew Coats.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Johnny George, Charles George,Jack George, Hershal George, T.N. George, Robert George and Lafette George; sisters, Laverne Martin, Moise Stevens, Evelyn Thornton, Eloise Chism and Bobbie Bryan.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Story, Phillip Cole, Danny Stites, Terry Downs, Wesley Spencer, and Rolf Rinehart.
