Ruby E Burns, 71 years, of Peebles, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 25, 2019, at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, Cincinnati, Ohio.
Ruby was born in Lawrence County, Ohio, on February 20, 1948, to the late Noah and Stella (Johnson) Scarberry. Ruby took pride in caring for her home and family.
In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Burns, who passed in September, 2005. She also was preceded by two brothers, Kenneth Scarberry and Norman Scarberry; and three sisters, Flossy Laffingwell, Hazel Daniels, and Dorothy Scarberry.
Ruby leaves behind two sons, Tim P (Jae) Burns, of Winchester; and Bret Burns, of Peebles; as well as four daughters, Regina (Carl Naylor) Bennington; Robin (George) Wolford; Christine Moon; and Brenda (Todd) Stratton, all of Peebles. She is also survived by three sisters, Betty Fry, of Lawrence County; Evelyn Walters, of Gallia County; and Juanita Hardy, of Lawrence County; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at 1:00 PM, at the Wallace-Thompson Funeral Home, with Don Lewis officiating. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects during visiting hours on Tuesday, beginning at 11:00 AM until the service time, at the funeral home.
